Abbiamo passato l'intera giornata sulla nave.
Oggi mi e' venuta anche fame e, a pranzo, ho mangiato riso con pezzetti di carne, preparato dal cuoco della nave.
L'equipaggio della nave e' molto gentile: mi portano un bicchiere e un piatto nuovi.
Mi faccio poi portare da Frank anche un pacchetto di cibo gia' pronto dei soldati americani.
Non so come faccia Frank ad avere questi pacchetti ma il mio pollo con salsa e' veramente buono.
Nella confezione, molto resistente, di plastica, c'e' tutto quello che occorre per mangiare: posate, sale, salse varie e riso messicano.
E' tutto gia' pronto, gia' cotto, confezionato sotto vuoto.
Alla sera, a cena, ho assaggiato questo pollo, dei biscottini e delle caramelline alla frutta veramente ottime.
Andrea, invece, ha mangiato dei crackers che ho trovato nel sacchetto. Deliziosi anche quelli.
Nel pomeriggio sono stata sul ponte della nave e ho preso un po' di sole.
Mi sono un po' bruciata, anche se il sole era gia' basso, ma non sento dolore.
Verso le 22,00 arriviamo al porto di Tarawa.
Non avevo idea di arrivare prima di domani mattina: e' stata una bella sorpresa !
Lo sbarco e' un po' burrascoso poiche' abbiamo dovuto arrampicarci sul bordo della nave e fare un piccolo salto per raggiungere la terraferma. Non c'era alcuna passerella, la Te Taobe non e' una nave da crociera !
Abbiamo poi aspettato per circa 2 ore i bagagli e lo svuotamento del container.
Poi ci hanno portati all'Otiintai Hotel, dove alloggeremo per 2 notti.
I radioamatori americani alloggeranno, invece, al Lagoon Breeze Motel, dove abbiamo alloggiato anche noi prima di partire per Banaba.
Avremmo voluto stari li' anche noi ma per due sole notti non ci hanno accettati.
Arrivati all'Otiintai abbiamo aspettato un po' di tempo l'arrivo del bagaglio.
Poi, quando abbiamo avuto il bagaglio, siamo saliti nella nostra stanza, la numero 18, primo piano.
Con disappunto ci accorgiamo che manca l'acqua, non possiamo neanche farci una doccia.
Speriamo che domani ci sia !

Today we spent all the day on board the ship.
During the trip I was hungry and, at lunch, I have eaten rice with meat.
The ship's crew is very nice: they gave me one new glass and plate.
Frank gave me also a food packet that usually give to american soldiers.
I don't know where this packets arrive but my chicken with salsa is very good.
In this packet there is a lot of things to eat: mexican rice and even salt and cutlery.
All is already ready, already cooked.
At dinner I have eaten this chicken, some biscuits and some fruit sweets, very very good.
Andrea has eaten some crackers. Delitious also these.
In the afternoon I was on the ship's deck and I was under the sun.
I was a little sunburned but I don't feel pain.
At around 10,00 p.m. we arrived to Tarawa's harbour.
I didn't think to arrive there so early. It was a nice surprise !
Our landing was a little dangerous because we should climb on the ship and make a little jump to arrive to the land. There is no gangway: the Te Taobe isn't a cruise ship !
Then we waited for about 2 hours your laggage and for the empty of the container.
Then they took us to Otiintai Hotel, where we'll stay for 2 nights.
American radio amators will stay at Lagoon Breeze Motel, where we stayed before our leaving for Banaba.
We would like to stay here but the owners can't accept us for only two nights.
When we arrived to Otiintai we waited for our laggage for a little time.
Then, when we had our laggage, we went into our room, number 18, first floor.
Unfortunately into our rooms there isn't water, we can't make a shower.
We hope that tomorrow there is water !
