30 march: Tarawa (Kiribati) - Lagoon Breeze Motel

This morning we landed on Tarawa Island.
We had a fly of about two hours and 1/2 with the only plane of AIR NAURU.
The Tarawa's airport is very little, is an hangar.
Here it's very hot, more hot than in Fiji and like Fiji it's very humid.
Then we passed a lot of controls over passports and visas.
Thanks to Hrane, one of the two slav radio operators, they didn't control our radios.
Then we put the laggage on a pick-up that carried us to the Lagoon Breeze Motel.
The rooms of the motel are nice, clean, and they have a little bathroom with shower and wc.
They have air conditioning and ventilators.
We had lunch and dinner in a restaurant of another hotel, the Otiintai Hotel.
Here we ate fry fish, a lot of rice, fry potatos and fruit with ice cream.
Sometimes we ate also meat, not very good, and chicken.
At dinner we ate boiled fish with boiled potatos, carrots and french beans, not very good, almost uncooked, always with rice.
After dinner the radio operators had a little conference to discuss if put or not two little radio stations in the hotels where we live.
